We are deploying our "Bee Buddies" educational outreach program at elementary schools in Sonoma County.  We are partnering with the School Garden Network to encourage classrooms to plant schoolyard pollinator patches with students. The School Garden Network (SGN) promotes and supports school garden programs throughout Sonoma County, and empowers “youth to embrace healthy eating habits and to develop respect for and stewardship of all living things.”

Conservation Works provides the SGN with a BeeSmartTM School Garden Kit ($150 value) developed by the Pollinator Partnership, plus reimburses the school with a mini-grant of up to $100 for the purchase of plants for the pollinator garden patch.  Conservation Works hopes to expand this program, and is currently seeking additional funding for this purpose.
